As Viewpoint moderator, Steve McIntosh leads a diverse panel of journalists, educators, commentators and other informed leaders. A broadcast veteran of more than 40 years, McIntosh is News Director at NewsRadio 1330 KNSS; and with Ted Woodward anchors Steve and Ted in the Morning, a fully produced news and entertainment program aired live each weekday morning from 6a-9a on KNSS. McIntosh is known for his authoritative news delivery and quick wit. During the 42 years he wrote and delivered his daily McIntosh Report, Mac was at times accused of being too liberal and at other times too conservative; about right for a moderator.
The Viewpoint Panel
Viewpoint will seek to assemble a diverse and informed panel representing wide-ranging opinions. Producers will not direct panelists but instead will honor their right to express their own opinions and judgment. All participants will be asked to contribute to a lively, spirited, yet polite discussion of local and statewide news and issues. Panelists appear without compensation.
Viewpoint Statement of Intent
In addition to the open and close of the program, only the background used to frame the issues is scripted. The rest of Impact Viewpoint is both unscripted and unrehearsed. The opinions expressed are those of the moderator and panelists and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the KPTS staff, management or trustees. The purpose of the program is to gather panelists with differing perspectives to reflect a diversity of opinions reflective of the KPTS viewing area, thereby generating a vigorous and thought-provoking exchange that will encourage greater citizen engagement.
