Viewpoint is a locally produced documentary series with a primary focus on events, people and places of interest to Wichita and south central Kansas. The series has an emphasis on local history and culture.

Local Voices of World War II (Original air date: October 2007)

Production of Local Voices of World War IILocal veterans share their stories of tragedy and triumph. Those on the home front recall the struggle to get the latest information. Men and women, who now live in Wichita, share detailed memories of life during WWII.

An hour-long Part II of this program debuted November 11, 2007.

Wichita's Role in World War II (Original air date: September 2007)

The demands of the military create a massive industry base in Wichita during World War II. This program explains how Boeing, Cessna and Coleman stepped up production and added women to the workforce to meet the war-time demand.

Children of Greensburg (Origianl air date: July 2007)

On May 4, 2007, a deadly monster tornado destroyed nearly all of the small Kansas town of Greensburg. Perhaps hardest hit was the Greensburg school system. Parents, students and school officials talk about how children are dealing with the devestation and tragedy and how they hope to rebuild in time for the start of school in September.

Trapped in Lebanon (Original air date: November 2006)

When war broke out in Lebanon in July 2006, several Wichita families found themselves in a country they couldn’t leave. Bridges were bombed. Planes were grounded. Daily transportation came to a standstill. In this documentary, several Wichita families talk about their frightening experiences as they find themselves trapped in Lebanon.
