Local Programs on KPTS

Part of our mission at KPTS is to Entertain, Educate, Engage and Enrich the viewers of south central Kansas. Our locally produced programs play a significant role in this effort. Each week we address some of the most pressing issues facing our community and our state.

KPTS weekly production is Impact. We also produce documentary style productions such as  Oil Dorado: The Life and Times of an Oil Boom and KMEA Music for Life.

KPTS produced a documentary on the 1970 Wichita State University plane crash  inwhich a charter plane carrying WSU football players, coaches and donors crashed in the mountains west of Denver. 31 of the 40 on board were killed. Black & Gold: Remembering the WSU Plane Crash includes reflections from survivors, family members, university administrators, and community members.

Wichita Sessions is a showcases some of the best of local and regional musical talent. Produce by Eric Zoller and Lonny Quattlebaum, Wichita Sessions is on every Saturday night at 9:00 p.m.
