By the time children have entered school they have logged an average of 4,000 hours watching television, much of it with little educational value. Public Television, with decades of innovation and success in children’s educational programming, is a natural partner with parents who seek to use television to enhance children’s capacity to participate fully in school.

KPTS offers over eight hours of children’s programming daily. You, as a child care provider, either in your home or at a center, have a lot to choose from. And we want you to be CHOOSEY! Sit down with them and watch. Then, do some of the activities that are suggested on the program. Or go to one of the web sites below and check out the child care providers’ area and/or the parents’ area. Tips, print outs and much more are available for use in your home activities with your children.
