He's optimistic about everything and always looks for the best in everyone! Don’t be alarmed by his gravelly voice, because he’s got a heart of gold. He truly makes Melvin Mania unpredictable every episode and we hope you tune in to see what he comes up with next!

Segments

In every episode of Melvin Mania in which Melvin visits a town in Kansas and checks out everything that the town has to offer. He visits schools, parks, offices, barbershops, empty fields, swimming pools, streets, and everything in between. Melvin wants to show off how cool so many local towns Kansas has, and he’s willing to search all around the state to find them. Will your town be the next one Melvin visits? You’ll have to watch and see!

Melvin receives a hand-drawn picture from one of our viewers, puts it in the creative box, the character comes to life, and Melvin interviews them. It’s that easy! This is a great way for our audience to interact with the show, because you never know if the drawing you sent will be put in the creative box! Drop your pictures off at The PBS Kansas Cochener-Garvey Children's Education Center or email us at melvin@kpts.org.

Melvin and Director of Education Lynn Woolf do a S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) learning activity together. Melvin is always new to what we’re learning about, so you can learn along with him! Also, Lynnn is a great instructor, so she’ll help guide you and Melvin!
